LET'S GET MOVING

This project and team were established at the beginning of 2020 after one of our beloved teachers were in a serious car accident and are in a wheelchair as a result. We as a task team want to adapt the school environment to accommodate wheelchairs not only for the teacher but we also envision a wheelchair friendly classroom and school ground environment for students with disabilities and the general public. Since the budget has been set for the 2020 year, the instalment of wheelchair ramps and railings cannot be funded from the general budget of Groenkloof High School.

The task team that has been appointed will make it their task to foresee the instalment of all the necessities on Groenkloof High School’s grounds. Several initiatives will be planned and exported to raise the needed funds for the instalment of all the needed ramps, railings, and safety precautions to make Groenkloof High School a safe wheelchair friendly environment.

I have appointed several role players in this massive task we have before us. Essential role players are Mr Francois de Bruyn who will be the project manager, Ms Sarika Eybers – the Health and Wellness officer, Elchane Mieny who is our facilities manager, Mr Charles Jordan our marketing manager, Ms Danielle Clarke the legal officer and Mariska von Wielligh who will be our administrator.

I do not doubt in mind that this team will lead Groenkloof High School to the best possible Wheelchair friendly environment possible.
